jkriv and lou teti | ditar | fiori remix ft. julian peterson

you guys. my talented friend, julian peterson, may be killing it in his daytime gig as a bluesy/rootsy/folksy (that’s what his bio says?) musician, but some nights, he let’s his dance/electronic soul shine.

check this out.

graceinplace:

i met up with nadia & mr. c last night for the julian peterson/brent jordan show at casbah. to be quite honest, i had never even heard of jp until this post last week, and since then i’d been listening non-stop. [yep, it’s that good]

after catching up with the lovely melissa over a cold beer, we enjoyed the perfect mix of songs i had familiarized myself with … along with several new ones that have yet to be released. we all loved it!!

mr. c started a trend when he bought a cd, and i [of course] had to go over and ask jp to sign it for me — you know, for when he gets really big and famous. i ended up chattin’ with him, his mom and aunt, and the drummer, nick. they were all so down to earth and so genuinely grateful for the support.

i promised that next time they come through it’ll be sold out show, and they in turn promised to send me the new record & put me on ‘the list’ so i won’t have to wait in that long line for said sold out show!

such a fun tuesday night filled with awesome music, beer, and friends.

this right here. just so perfect.

raleigh, durham, and chapel hill friends:
julian peterson has a really fun show scheduled at casbah with brent jordan, husband of the awesome and talented melissa jordan (whose blogs I’m sure many of you follow), and garland mason.
you should come! and invite your friends! and tell them to invite their friends!

be sure to check out julian’s website: julianpeterson.com
a very enthusiastic thanks to nadia and harry, who fielded my annoying messages about the north carolina music scene (and never once mentioned that I lived in chapel hill for four years and I should know these things)!

thanks!!

hi friends.
someone recently asked where I’ve been lately.
this is where I’ve been!
my friend, julian peterson, is an absolutely amazing person and a wonderfully talented musician. because I think he’s pretty awesome, I decided to spend some of my newly discovered free time (something you have when you’re no longer in school — who knew) pretending to be his manager — bossing him around, booking shows, demanding that he let me hang out with his endlessly cool musician friends.
it’s been a whirlwind, and a blast, and incredibly productive.
julian has had time to write some songs, meet with some producers, spend time in the studio.
he’s in the process of recording his upcoming ep, but, beginning today, he’s stepping away from the studio to take a quick trip down south.
some would call it a tour.
some would call it a thinly veiled excuse to spend a few days hanging out at jazz fest in new orleans.
we’re calling it a spring fling.
